Adventure Day!!

The day started off strong with the smell of sulphur in the air. We travelled up the road to Te Puia which is located in central Rotorua. We explored some of the many geothermal wonders as well as witnessing the very talented carving and weaving skills of the scholars at the Te Puia school. We also had the chance to see the Kiwi bird conservation project that is hoping to rebuild the population of Kiwi birds in New Zealand. After this start to the day the action packed adventures begun.....
Starting with the zorb balls. To begin with it seems like this would be ok but nothing that amazing as it seemed really slow at the beginning, we were so wrong. This ride was like nothing we had experienced before, it was so much fun, really fast and it felt like we were in a washing machine. Next up was the free fall and shweeb. The free fall was nerve racking and super funny. Free falling involves lying down on a massive wind vent and being blown into the air. There are many (embarrassing) videos to be seen from this. The shweeb was a test of our physical skills with everyone having to ride a bike like machine to beat the person beside them in a race. Finally we ended our day racing down the hill on a luge. This was an amazing end to the day. We raced twice down the hill with many of us getting more adventurous on the second go.
