Marlborough Sound

We started the day early, arriving at the dock by 8am for our Marlborough Sound tour. The temperature when we boarded the boat was colder than expected and we were given blankets to help keep us warm. Some of us sat on the bow of the boat snuggled in blankets, while others stayed protected at the back of the boat out of the cold. As we were sailing along the captain of the boat filled us in on information and history of the Sound. We spotted a unique species of dolphin and followed them to get closer. All the girls raced to the side of the boat to take photos. After this we headed to Ship Cove, where Captain Cook first landed. Upon arriving the girls raced to be the first to jump off the jetty into the waters of Antartica. Some of the girls only braved the water once where as some of the girls jumped off multiple times. After returning to the boat some of theirls enjoyed a rest on the trip home. After this we sat on the jetty to have lunch to warm everyone up. After returning to the boat some of the girls enjoyed a rest on the trip home. We then headed back to shore.
